ANOTHER YEAR GONE!
Having had a busy 2009 we are now looking forward to 2010.
With several new chain supply partners and contracts coming on stream, perhaps this year will also be a busy period for RAB and all our clients.
PERMATRACK HM INLAY REPAIR TAKES THE STRAIN
’PERMATRACK HIGH MODULAS’ Inlay crack repair system was the preferred material chosen to permanently repair a cracked major trunk road in the HIGHWAY AGENCY’s MACS Area 7.
This high stressed road [A1] requires the toughest of products to effect a long lived repair to the ‘live’ longitudinal crack that is located in the wheel track area. No compromise on quality of materials or workmanship was allowed. The specified inlay crack repair system must be HAPAS approved. Have been previously tried and tested on several of the UK’s most exacting motorways for a number of years past. Ultra heavily trafficked roads such as M4 Heathrow junctions-Contract -14 kilometers of longitudinal cracks. Which we routed out to a profile of 320mm wide x 140mm deep, and this section was fully trafficked within 1 hour of completion. Other contracts RAB have completed include the M6 / A1[M] / T junctions / London’s Waterloo roundabout. These completed contracts are just a sample of PERMATRACK HM inlay crack repairs RAB have completed over the past 9 years.
BRISTOL CITY
LARGE MECHANICAL BRIDGE JOINT REPLACED WITH RAB-NEJ JOINT
One of the city’s main feeder road known as, ’Brunel Way South’ which connects directly on to the AVON BRIDGE elevated structures, have over the past 3 years had their 6No deck expansion joints replaced by RAB using the PERMATRACK HM system of bridge joints. However one of the existing sliding steel joints is being subjected to very rapid deck movements both in the vertical and horijontal plane. This meant that a more mobile joint was required.
RAB UK were given permission to install their High Performance Nosing Joint [NEJ] this system meets the Highway Agency BD 33/94 Joint Type 4 specification. Dimensions of the Bristol City installation are
14.80 long x 1.15 wide x 70 mm depth completed during daytime shift periods 0930 -1530 hrs
